Novosibirsk College of Chemical Technologies after D.I. Mendeleev

Novosibirirsk College of Chemical Technologies after D. I Novosibirsk College of Chemical Technologies after D.I. Mendeleev (NCCT) is one of the oldest educational establishments in the field of chemical professional education in Russia. It was founded in 1929 as a vocational school. Nowadays it is a part of “scientific cluster” together with Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science (Akademgorodok) and BIO-TechnoPark. It is also a member of some professional associations (including Russian Chemists’ Society, The City Commerce & Industrial Chamber,  International Association “IVETA”, etc.). The average amount of graduates comprises more than 750 per year. About 200 employees are involved in the study process.

NCTC changes with the times. Once there were only chemists-analysts, today it has been offering a goofd plenty of VET study programs, such as Analytical Control in Chemical Compounds Quality, IT in Applied Fields, Environmental Protection, Biochemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Refining, Economics and Finance etc. There are following advantages of NCTC: (1) close cooperation with the leading scientific centres; (2) unique experience in vocational training; (3) open-minded, well-trained academic staff; (4) up-to-date equipped laboratories; (5) constant financing (including extra-financing).  NCTC was one of the first VET schools in Novosibirsk region which used ISO 9001 for QMS in 2005.To be competitive in 2012 it became the site for the City Resource Centre foundation with its challenging ideas for more than 20 partners in different high-technology spheres.

NCTC got a range of professional awards for its contribution to the National System of Education. Since 2015 NCTC has become the Federal Site for The Russian Ministry of Education and Science aiming to adjust VET educational system. In 2015, a remarkable project was realized concerning the elaboration of the Federal Professional Standard for qualification of Quality Control of Composite Materials Production (in cooperation with The Federal Institute of Education Development and the Labour Ministry).  The College became the site for establishing The Federal Association of VET schools involved in Chemical Technology Training. Besides the previous year NCTC took part in the WorldSkills Russia Contest in three different competences. In the year 2016 (February), one of the WorldSkills’ selection rounds in Analytical Chemistry will be held at its place.
